Albee, Edward. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. New York : Atheneum House, 1972. Print.
This play tells the tale of George and Martha, a married couple whose relationship has turned sour. They spend much of their time trying to either embarrass one another or getting into fights. They invite another couple over to their house to take part of their dark games. I don't think you could stage this play with a high school. It is incredibly long and since you cannot cut it, it would be extremely difficult for students to give time to, along with their school work. Also, the roles are extremely intense, probably too intense for students so young. I think it could be studied in a classroom though. It is easily one of the most timeless plays of the 20th century and can allow students to look closely and richly written characters.
